Thanatophobia - Sotonye Dan

Blurry vision and a nagging headache
Neuropathic pains and shortness of breath
Syncope and internal tremor
An indication that God walked out on him

Transferred from trolley to bed
Will this be another fatal event?
Thoughts of loved ones dead
As Hades looked him in the eyes

Riddled with regrets
Like a death-row inmate
I shouldn't have subscribed to pot,
The bottle and all

Ashamed to call on God
Guilt raw like The Adams' after the fall
Rest was imperative
But the sedative wouldn't just work

A discharge more like an eviction
The tests read negative
Blue litmus turns red regardless
This case defies modern medicine

Gripped by fear; courage mustered yet
A prayer was said with mustard-seed faith;
Strength surged in like electricity
Indeed only God could save the day
