Young Nigerian Female - Content Developer

This is the very first post on this blog on Content Development.

That’s actually not as serious as it sounds. You see, I took a break from blogging. I simply did not have the time for it. I have always been a content writer, but sometime in the middle of the year, I decided that was not enough. I found out about content development, and I knew I had to get in on that. I did a little research and found out what content development skills are;
Writing skills
SEO
Basic graphic design
Basic html
CMS Proficiency
Et cetera
Then, I set about building those skills. Did I make this sound simple? It isn’t. I’m still learning; taking courses, watching tutorial videos on YouTube and reading articles. It never stops. Not so  long ago, I was a content writer; now, I'm a content developer.

Are you wondering what this has to do with you? I would too, if I was you.
Here’s the thing. When you manage a business or a brand, you owe it to your band and to your audience to keep getting better. You need to take a look at your brand. Does it look like the old Methodist chant?
“As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end…”

Are you boring your audience? Are you boring yourself? Are you dishing out the same old newsletters?

Does your social media content smell stale? Does it smell like fresh mango or day old porridge?

Too many weird analogies? Sorry.

The point is this, your content has got to be interesting, and most importantly, fresh. But not just that. Your content needs to have nutrients. It’s not enough for it to look good, it has to add value to the viewer. Every piece of content has to add value. Tell a story. Teach something. Give advice. Make the viewer laugh. Do something aside from looking pretty and talking about yourself. Yeah. I’m still talking about brands, but this works for people too.

I leveled up on skills because I want my clients to gain A LOT when they come to me. This is what you should want for your brand too.

This is an introduction. I’ll be sharing tips, advice and whatnot about content development from here on out. the things I've learned, the things I've seen, the things I've done, and the things you should try out.
